Ribes Rubrum - Red currant.
Deciduous Fruiting Shrub growing to 1.5 metres high. Frost tolerant. Produces clusters of hanging translucent bright red fruit. Prefers a moist soil and plenty of sun. Unlike Blackcurrants, Fruit is borne on two and three year old shoots. Fruit is very high in vitamin C.
