Origins -Merton Worcester is one of the first apples developed by the John Innes Horticultural Institute, in 1914. It has been grown commercially on a small scale in England. It's parents are Worcester Pearmain and Cox's Orange Pippin. It was named in 1947.

Size & Shape - Medium. Round to oblate.
Colour - Red in colour with slight russetting
Taste - Sweet, juicy with a strawberry-like flavour. The flesh is cream coloured, fine grained, crisp.
Storage - Keeps two months in cold storage.
