A fresh lemon scented herbaceous perennial in the mint family. Grows easily in most soils and grows to a height of approx 1 metre. Can be made into a tea to help with insomnia or anxiety. Flowers with small white flowers in summer to attract bees. In my honesty opinion, one of the top 20 herbs. Available bare rooted in winter ONLY.

Great opportunity today to be part of this integrative workshop about soil and human health in portobello. Hosted in Heraweka street at Augustine's cafe. Met some fabulous people and ate some lovely healthy food. Awesome work by Dr Ivan Lin tying it

Grateful to be a part of this awesome gathering for some cheese making in middlemarch. We started with a cow milking demo with the fabulous rosie and some cheese tasting, then we got onto making some halloumi. Nice to catch up with some great ladies,

This is what new gardens look like at my house. This was a very untidy corner with old pallets and mushroom logs and over grown vegetation. Out comes the weedwhacker! The vegetation cut down. Covered with coffee sacks and mulched with grass clippings

Sick of weeding paths and lifting wood chips. Work smarter not harder... The paths have been weeded back to bare soil and down with lawn seed. Then a whip round with the weed whacker to keep them tidy.
Hopefully much less work.

All this rain then heat has been so good for the garden. Everything is looking so lush. Hard to believe 5 years ago this was over grown cooch grass, hemlock, dead trees and gorse. Still a way to go to get it all landscaped but definitely almost there

Blackcurrants are a must have in the edible garden. Unlike their red counterpart they are so versatile in the kitchen and the uses are almost endless. They are also packed full of nutrients and vitamin c and antioxidants

Bit of chaos in the garden with the heavy winds last week. A dead standing Hawthorn has partially come down. Took out an apricot tree which was gutting. These things happen. Thankful noone was hurt. I've cut it back to remove the damage and hopefull

I was never a fan of grasses... I found them boring.. But these guys are pretty cool. They add texture and year round colour/texture. And they look like hair! Swishing around in the wind and when you walk by. Seed readily too and is very hardy. Coma
