Thornless boysenberries are normally a cross between raspberries, blackberries and dewberries. The fruit they produce is sweet, juicy, large and dark purple/black when ripe. The canes have no thorns, making them easy to pick and prune. As a bramble they need a frame or support to grow on and support the fruit. They like full sun, well drained fertile soil and adequate moisture. Ripen in early summer. They fruit on second year canes, cut back dead or damaged canes to encourage more to grow.
