Origins -First cultivated Dr Stayman in Kansas in the 1860s.
Type - Triploid Heirloom apple. A great dessert apple or as addition to cider.
Season - Late season.
Size & Shape -Medium sized and round.
Colour - Thick, greeny/yellow skin with a deep red blush, dark red stripes, and some russet dots.
Taste - The flesh is firm, tender, juicy and crisp. Tart and spicy.
Storage - This apple will keep very well.
Pollination - Group C, an excellent pollinator for other varieties, requires another variety to aid pollination, such as Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Fuji, Gala, Jonagold, Crabapple
