Stayman is considered a triploid heirloom variety. It is a medium-sized, roundish apple with a thick, greeny/yellow skin with a deep red blush, dark red stripes, and some russet dots. The flesh is firm, tender, juicy and crisp. Tart and spicy. This apple will keep very well, and is a great dessert apple or as addition to cider.
